EBay to stop, change listing fees for some sellers
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – EBay Inc said on Tuesday it would stop charging upfront fees for some people who sell low-priced items and change other parts of its fee system in the United States to spur more transactions on its site. Starting on March 30, the electronic commerce website will eliminate fees on items with an auction start price of 99 cents or less, allowing sellers to list 100 items a month. EBay would take 9 percent of the final price or $50, whichever is less.
China says won't limit Google's Android mobile platform
BEIJING (Reuters) – China will not try to limit use of Google's Android mobile phone platform in the Chinese market, its information technology regulator said on Wednesday. China would not limit any platform as long as it complied with Chinese law, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology spokesman Zhu Hongren said, responding to a question on whether the Android application would be affected by a dispute between China and Google.
Nokia drops music package from flagship X6 model
HELSINKI (Reuters) – Nokia will drop the ailing “Comes with Music” offering from the new version of its flagship music phone X6, hoping a one-third cheaper price tag would boost sales of the model. Nokia tried to boost its ailing “Comes with Music” service selling its new X6 model only with the music package, but analysts said many telecoms operators — key sales channel for handset vendors — opposed the packaging.
China's Baidu wins court case against music groups
LONDON (Reuters) – China's most popular search engine Baidu has been cleared of piracy in a dispute with the music industry, the IFPI trade body for the music sector said on Tuesday. The IFPI said it was very disappointed with the ruling after a court in China decided that the search engine had not broken rules by linking to music downloads that infringe copyright.
China scorns U.S. over Google dispute
BEIJING (Reuters) – Chinese state media stepped up their war of words with the United States over Internet control on Tuesday, with a top newspaper claiming a U.S. conspiracy and saying China can live without Google. China's Foreign Ministry, however, also signalled it did not want the dispute to boil over, saying recent stability in Sino-U.S. ties had been “hard-won.”
Playtech 'very comfortable' with FY market view
LONDON (Reuters) – Online gaming software firm Playtech said it was very comfortable with market expectations for 2009 after reporting a 10 percent increase in fourth quarter sales on Tuesday. The group reported a total revenue of 30.4 million euros (26.3 million pounds), up 10 percent on the third quarter, and making full year revenue of 114.8 million euros for 2009.

The draft, due to be approved next month, would make Internet Service Providers (ISPs) like Fastweb and Telecom Italia, and Web sites like Google's YouTube, responsible for monitoring TV content on their pages, industry experts say.

In a study of 175 newlywed couples scientists at Iowa State University said those who met through online dating agencies, or social networking sites, tended to be older than other couples who met through traditional ways offline.
